Friends Drinking In the Car

AFAIK there is no law prohibiting even the driver consuming alcohol while driving. At least no more so than any other beverage.

of course it's legal.

Some places in america dont allow people to drive with "open containers", but lucky we arnt as repressed as america.

thats ok then, just one of my mates said it was illegal, maybe he meant that they would still get done for under-age drinking, which i assume they would! Or would i get done for not stopping them?

My brother got pulled over once cos his drunk friends had their heads out the windows...the police said something about them being his responsibility while in his car or something like that.

yes, this is why im thinking it might be illegal as they are under-age, therefore i should tell them not to drink blah blah blah! What does annoy me though is their inability to put there belts on! I like to do an emergency stop going 20 and say you got your belts on! They moan every time hahaha :p

They are probably chucking beer all over you back seats ,you get fined if they don't belt up ! Just refuse to drive off until they comply .
I use to let people smoke pot in mine when I was a teen ,ruined the seats with gibon burns .

^ are you sure about that? In America it's illegal to have any sort of open alcohol container in the car at all (needs to be in the trunk or something).

Nope, it's only the drives responsibility for children. It works better for the police that way because they can fine each and every person who wasn't wearing a belt.

I remember a thread on here a few years back about the police pulling over a mini bus full of trafic wardens.
