Hi everyone,

I have been trying to find some threads on that monitors but no success.

I am about to buy one (the TN version) but before I would any recommendations and any advantages / disadvantages.

Is is a good monitor or which 24" is the best etc etc :D

Thanks very much for your help
:):):)

Thread about it here:

I've got one and have found it to be very good for a TN panel. Great via every input, good non-native scaling, barely any noticeable ghosting (comparable to my old Samsung 226BW) and most importantly no noticeable input lag.

Colours are OK but not as good as a mates Dell 3007WFP and i'd say viewing angles are average - pretty much what you'd expect from a TN.

If your FPS gaming then this is better than something like a Dell 2407 however if you were using it from a graphical perspective (colour accuracy and viewing angles) then a screen like the Dell would be the better choice.

Thanks very much, I also heard that there were 2 versions of this 240, one made in Asia and the new (since december) made in Germany.

I am an Fps freak to be honest, will the 8800 GTS be able to cope with 1920x1200 easily?

cheers everyone :D

i have emailed Ocuk for the warranty:

- they said one year
- and only in the UK ( I am moving back to France in July)

I have emailed Hyundai:

- 3 year warranty
- doesnt matter where you buy the monitor, I will get the warranty.

who should I trust :confused::confused:

Hyundai have given you confirmation in writing so i'd go with them TBH. Perhaps get them to clarify it in a more official way so you have a document yoou can use as proof if you ever need it.

As far as i know the first years warranty is generally with OCUK. They may believe that there is no cover outside the UK if it does not state that its an international warranty.

I've run the screen off an 8800GTX (great), 2x 2900XT in Crossfire (great) and an HD3850pro 256mb (surprisingly good) with no problems.

I think you'll be fine as long as it's either the GTS 512mb or 640mb. The 320mb would be ok but you'd benefit from the extra memory of the others.

Brilliant mate,

I have a new GTS 512mb and I have been on my full hd 40 lcd tv without any sort of drops in FPS.

P.S: Will order the monitor in the next week or so?

any signs of new 24" or better and cheaper monitors in the next few weeks / months ??

512mb GTS will be perfect mate! :D

The only other comparable monitor i've seen is the 24" Acer mentioned in this thread: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17803323

They've got the glass fronted screen which look super sharp and vibrant but cause some issues regarding reflections. It also lacks the component input of the Hyundai but does have a VGA, DVI and HDMI socket so you'll still have plenty to choose from.

There's a pic of the 22" version in that thread along with a promising set of comments. If the 24" version is similar that could also be a good alternative.

Good luck and i hope you enjoy whichever you get! :)

Yep I was looking into that, especially the cheap price, but to be honest I have read thousands of review, Iiyama being most of the times the best monitors, and Acer being the worst ones.

Obviously, that can change.

And finally, I don't mind what the price is and i need the warranty in France especially for 3 years with Hyundai
