DIC To Make Fresh Buy-Out Bid For Liverpool

No idea whether that'll put us 2nd in the debt leagues but its reported that only half that loan is going onto the clubs books.

Im a Liverpool fan let me say that first, but it makes me smile when I read about the distrust and suspicion we have here in the UK for foreign ownership when it is the income from the sale of TV rights around the world which is the bedrock of the premier league and allows us to attract and pay the wages of players of the calibre of Torres and keep the likes of Gerrard at the club.

I dont care who owns Liverpool as long as they invest in the team big time.

Which G+H have shown no sign of doing, they just want to lump debt on the club without risking any of their own money.

Perhaps you are right, but people were saying the same about the Glazers who utilised the same business model with Man U and look how much they have pumped into the team over the last season or two.

To be fair to G&H they are right to concentrate on getting the new stadium sorted. Without that we are never gonna close the gap to our three main rivals. And they did get us Torres.

Wish the stupid stories would stop 'leaking' into the papers though, it can only destabilise the team.

If Liverpool use the same business model as we do they will go bankrupt, they simply don't generate enough revenue at the moment to support it.

The BBC have updated there article with a few more details, seems like they're getting this info from somebody close to the situation:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/l/liverpool/7197675.stm

Its now saying that the offer is £350m + DIC will take on the debts incurred by the Yanks (guess that means the ~£20m net spend this summer + the ~£50m of working capital put into the club at the time of the takeover) effectively making the offer around £420m which would give them £100m profit each.

However the article does say that the deal is subject to the Yanks agreeing to certain conditions which they currently are not willing to do so. There's no mention of what these conditions are but it wouldn't seem thay they're related to value as im sure it would have been mentioned but the good news is that if these stories are true then it would mean the yanks are open to a sale.

a lot of investment can only be good for Liverpool as a club and English football in general

From a premiership point of view I think they may be risking a little in the way that potential destabalisiing the club now could cause them to drop harmfully out of the top four and miss out on CL football next season (surely doing during the off season would risk less)

Sure the club cant really do much about journo talk but even so it cant be good right now I would have thought

Apart from the new ground (which will cost a fortune by itself without an external major sponser - like Emirates, which gave Arsenal...£100m or somehting?, so still requires a hell of a lot of other funding) the team needs a lot of cash - no disrespect meant at all, but while a core few players are excellent (and no doubt your youth setup will produce a few also) 6 decent 1st XI players wouldnt go amiss, and maybe a couple incase of injury - completely rough guess

obviously thats a gamble in itself introducing so many players - but to compete in all competitions to the end probably necessary

Completely my opinion, but that can add up to £500m+ incl the stadium

Daz have you read the OP? :p ;)

Its 99.9% certain that they have either made a bid or are about to, its just a case of whether the Yanks will take it.

Yes, it was early and I was still half asleep :o, linked to it because that article mentioned it could be sorted this week

Just got a voicemail of my mate- his cousin works for the Liverpool Echo, occasionally covering footy. He's just called my friend and said that a deal's now been made, DIC have bought out G+H with Parry being ousted and something formal will be announced tomorrow ahead of the Villa game. One detail he mentioned that it's doubtful any money would be available for January but plenty (£95M) would be there for Summer and they still want Rafa to stay.

Now, the lad in question's an Everton fan but my mate's a shrewd judge and wouldn't have fallen for a wind up from him so we'll have to wait and see.

I'm taking this with a big pinch of salt until I hear otherwise, but I thought people might be interested.

I'll wait for something a bit more official. If the echo knows about it then i'd be pretty sure the BBC would also know by now especially as they're the ones leading the story and getting the more accurate info.

That doesn't sound good. Wouldn't that put them in the second most debt behind manyoo?

Don't worry Jilly everything will be fine I have spoken to one my Liverpool supporting mates and he as told me DIC will come in, throw unlimited money at Liverpool so the greatest manager in the world Rafa can finally get some money to spend because did you know he has worked on a shoestring budget before unlike Man utd and Chelsea? Also they have so much money in reserve they will wipe off their debt and then finally it will be their year and they will return to past glories and dominate Europe again ;)
