Films to look forward to for 2008?

For me it's got to be Bond 22. Craigs first was good, but I just want this one to be even better.

Agree with many of the other suggestions. Especially Dark Knight and Indiana.

I'm looking forward to Southland Tales. Huge fan of Donnie Darko and although I've heard some mixed things about this one I'm still desperate to see it

Green giant suggests There Will Be Blood. Already number 30 in IMDB.com's all time highest. Daniel Day Lewis got best actor Golden Globe so worth a check for sure.

Comedy wise I hope Semi-Pro will be good

Harold and kumar 2? oh wow, buzzing, never knew :D
Cannot wait for iron man, always LOVED the cartoons.

Dark knight obv aswell as cloverfield. Jumper looks watchable.
Indie will be a no brainer, even if its pap.
Rambo ofcourse

Agreed, it's shaping up to be a decent year for movies! Have to renew my unlimited ticket for the local cineplex soon... Something like 10 films out between now and the end of February that I want to see.

Well I'm going to undone all my good work and get slated for this, but I've been watching the old Hulk tv series on dvd, and it's now elevated The Incredible Hulk to the top of my list of anticipated movies for 08 :D

Yeah, it's being described as part sequel, part "reboot".

Completely new cast; Edward Norton as Banner, Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, William Hurt as General Ross, as well as bringing in Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky aka Abomination, and Tim Blake Nelson as Samual Sterns aka the Leader.

Ang Lee is gone, to be replaced by Louis Leterrier (Transporter movies). I'm a bit sceptical about this choice, but at least he's very action orientated, so it should at least have more going on than the 03 film.

The screenplay was written by Norton himself, and both he and Leterrier were fans of the tv show and comics. So hopefully it will be treated in the right way. It's a promising start that Hulk now has some real foes to battle rather than mutated poodles and his dad

And the CGI will be done by a different company too. I think they're going for a darker, and somewhat more comic book look to the Hulk himself, going by a few comments online, and a pic of their original concept art.

And yes, I'm more excited about this film than any 32 year old has a right to be :o

heh. Gd Gd, quite like the darker twist on things really, iron man looks as if it will be a bit of a laugh but then pretty good, without having the kiddy cheese of spiderman or ever fantastic 4 for that matter. Batman films being so dark like intended really pays off aswell.
Looks like writers etc are starting to notice how much we love darker things without all the silly cheese and glamour now, bond seems to be taking this direction even.

Well ill not write the hulk off yet then, although i must admit i found the cartoon tedious, though this was the marvel action hour cartoon, not the origional :)

Saw this couple of days ago.

Brilliant film, If you haven't seen it yet you really must.
Don't think people that didn't enjoy Donnie Darko will enjoy this either, but I myself loved it! :D

southland tales is utter tripe, it took me 4 attempts to watch it.
I thought donnie darko was good, but southland.. it just drags? Although SMG is top notch!

Interesting you revived the thread now as I got it from Lovefilm just last weekend :)

I preferred Donnie Darko for sure, this one was even more baffling! I think the director got a bigger budget to play with and he got even more adventurous with his ideas/concepts and sadly a lot will be lost on the average viewer.

That said I want to give it a second watch so hopefully slot some more things into place. It was also very clever and pretty damn funny in places too.
