The Discovery Channel really is a load of American Tosh

Yeah I've seen that, you don't mind national pride but when it's all the time, for every single sporting event, every day in school/college then it's a ott..notice the flag on every patio and if you don't have one then in big trouble (probably southern states)

Mythbusters used to be the only program i ever watched :D

But now it just annoys me...If it was just Jamie and Adam then i would think it was fantastic, but Grant and the girl (byron) just drive me up the wall.
But the ginger girl is so hot!!!

I love discovery channels. I like the UFO progrmas, not that I believe they are aliens. But still very interesting. Radical nazi stuff. Like extreme engineering and expeditions to discover history to support the nazi regime.

American chopper and Mythbusters is pure entertainment and funny.

But there are far to much repeat shows. But that's just sky/cable for you.

Oh and Future Weapons is fascinating and shows how far behind times all armies are.

The US invented computers that could communicate using copper wire, not quite the same as the 'internet'. You could say networking.

I hate the yanks attitude in general.

The USA (specifically, ARPA) invented a hugely fault-tolerant networking system intended for use with military installations, the idea being that the network would remain functional if miltary installations or the lines between them were destroyed. That was the de facto beginning of the internet.

The jet engine is a British invention. It was given to the USA as part of the immense sum (in cash, technology and materials) that the UK paid the USA for help in WW2, the most expensive mercenary operation ever known. It isn't even disputed, so this is straightforward nationalistic propaganda.

Miles Aircraft had a supersonic plane almost finished, with prototypes in production, when the project was binned and the technology given to the USA, which was quite a way behind at the time (quite a way behind as in "no idea how to build a plane that wouldn't crash when it went supersonic").

Nationalistic propaganda is nothing new, nor is it limited to the USA. It's just that the USA currently has by far the most powerful and wide-reaching propaganda machine.

Yes thats what I was reffering to, the military network. To me thats a private network, not a public network or the idea/ethos/principle of one but that was my interpretation. :p

It's garbage. Well, the majority of it. Occasionally I find something that is interesting. But it always covers the same crap, some natural disaster or 'awesome hurricanes' or whatever. Argh.

ALL TV is propoganda and designed to manipulate you. I am glad some of you are finally waking up to the fact.

Turn the thing off for good.

I disagree with that quite strongly... but I would agree that most documentaries / insight programmes have agendas if that is what you were referring to.
