Hey all,
Bought a Microwave Oven from that orange high street electrical store in February 2007. It's one of those oven, grill and microwave combi things..
Anyway, it went pop after 10 months of use (just before Christmas last year) so I called up to have it repaired under the 1 year warranty on the 20th of December 2007.
First engineer came around on the 22nd of December 2007 to look at it, and decided that it needed a spare part.. DESPITE not opening the microwave to look inside.
Today a different engineer called back with said part to "fix" the problem, and to be honest it seemed like he couldn't wait to get out of the door. To add insult to injury he didn't wear shoe protectors and he didn't leave me any paperwork... but he asked me to tell the office that he did; if they rung
I was not able to check the item while he was here because he simply did a runner before I could plug it in and I was left to try it when I came home from work.
Long story short... I tried it, and it wouldn't work.
I rung up customer services and explained that it was a joke that a £200 appliance would fail to last a measily 12 months, and I requested a refund on the grounds that I had given them 2 chances to fix the problem, and they have gone unanswered.
What rights do I have regarding getting my money back?
Surely this is covered under the "Sale of Goods Act" ?
