Surely i am paying for the teachers time, and therefore its up to him how he teaches his class. Not a strong point i know, but its just irritating how he addmitted he turned on the phone to try n go through my files to see my name :mad:

No point, won't go anywhere. Probably shouldn't have had the phone out initially and his word against HoD.

I've said all I think on the subject; I doubt you'll get anywhere but to cause yourself more trouble and you may even get Mr X to change his opinions on being a nice guy and just blanket ban all use of phones/MP3 players etc. As I said, take it on the chin.
 
Wow. If a teacher/head done that to me. I would have flipped. Its like looking through somebody's PC/files when they are away. I would have definitely lost my temper.

80% of teachers dont give a cr@p about you using mp3 players etc etc as long as work is done and completed . However this guy just IMHO wants to show everyone how much of a big man he is ....

Bang on, dont be a gobby little bugger and he wouldnt of taken it off you this will serve you well in later life. He didnt act approproately but as hes the head of the deparment he out ranks whatever your teacher says basically
 
Really dont understand how saying what he is doing is being a gobby little bugger, he was acting jobsworth i said he was being jobsworth.

Person is acting stupid, i say he is acting stupid, if he cant take it and has to hide behind his rule book, then what on earth does he do in real life ...

Looking for empathy now? You disrespected him in front of the whole class. What goes around comes around. **** happens and like other people have said, you won't get far with taking it higher and if you weren't so cocky, you wouldn't be posting this.

I hate to point this out to you, but you are not his equal, at least not when you are at school.

You're really going to have fun when you reach the world of work if your attitude doesn't improve in a dramatic way.

Then you don't know what it means to be respectful at all. You can't just walk around saying exactly what you think - you will get nowhere in life doing that and make a lot of enemies in the process.

Your a pupil hes a teacher if you walked up to your boss in the real world said that to him and expected nothing to happen then you need to look at your attitude

I can see what you mean that the teacher was a bit out of line by saying basically he could do what he wants. Anyone would probably crack under that situation if thats what he said, but again we can't hear his tone or whatever.

But i guess you probably should have bit your lip and not really had the phone out in the first place (when i was in high school we weren't allowed phones or mp3's out at all).

EDIT: And yea he should definitely have not tried to go through your files. I would have given him a quick slap :D Mind you im in a tech/college in Belfast, so anything goes :)

I would leave immediately if the boss was an ass like this teacher.. no matter how desperate i was for a job, straying ot now
