I dont think anyone is saying thats right but the way you reacted to him stinks of disrespect as well, I hated some of my teachers at school but still treated them with the respect they may or may not have diserved

But i guess you probably should have bit your lip and not really had the phone out in the first place (when i was in high school we weren't allowed phones or mp3's out at all).

It is when you're not his equal. He runs the department, not you. I wouldn't have stood for what you said as a class teacher, let alone as a HoD. You showed a total lack of respect. He was no doubt having a laugh with you in the first instance, you were a little gob *****, he lost his rag with you.

I'm not particularly surprised, as the amount of times people on here have told you that you come across as cocky and this'll be the 3rd time I'll say 'take it on the chin.'

Whether i was 12 20 30 50 100 it would anger me that a person was trying to go through my files when it was clear i didnt want him to by passwoord and turning it of.

You really have no clue. You respect your teachers no matter what you think of them for the very fact that they ARE your teachers.

However the school explains how in 6th form you are treated like adults etc, your friendly with teachers etc. this is the 1st teacher in this school that is a basic a$$, all other teachers would be all jobsworth, well arent all jobsworth, head of dt different head of geo differnet head business differnet then theres this head of ict whos an a$$

This happened to me once in a drama lesson, I was listening to my iPod and my teacher spotted me and confiscated it until the end of the lesson (fair enough I thought I wasn't supposed to be using it). I didn't give her any attitude about it either.

Then she went off into her office and came back to me later asking me how to turn it off, I was like "wtf you shouldn't be using confescated items", I had a fat go at her and she felt pretty bad about it so I didn't report it to a head of department or anything, she didn't appologise though.

A similar thing happened when a teacher confiscated my mate's phone, when he got it back there were loads of pictures of other teachers on it that the teacher had taken, that was way out of line.

If i was to go through your files without your consent how would you honestly feel ?

If I was the headmaster and said i can do whatever i want, i think you should be de promoted, how would you hoestly feel?

I can see what you mean that it annoyed you. One of my tutors in particular swears and curses at us and is angry all the time, but its his personality. I banter with him sometimes and say like "aww shush" or something. Its harmless banter. Im never really cheeky to anyone and certainly not to a Head teacher/tutor.
