Be going to church, will I.

It's as believable as the Bible - just a load of old tosh made up by drunkards and an over-rated film director.

Roman Polanski wrote the bible and killed jesus afer all didn't he?

Oh, right, so now that the armchair Biblical historians have arrived and dismissed all religions as being as credible as this, I guess I can leave the thread.

Same thing happens every time the FSM comes up on slashdot...

Correct, it cannot be denied they all have exactly the same amount of evidence, because all religions of the world have the same evidence - exactly 0

These star wars people saw a movie and started thinking the force is real, christians heard a story and believe a dude in the sky is real.

Its all been said before, talked about endlessly, but what fact remains unchanged there is no evidence what so ever.

Thanks for replying with an ounce of thought.

It's also been discussed that faith is not contingent on evidence.

It's also been discussed, but not so much here, that there's a difference between believing in something thousands of years old with no traceable fictional origin, and something 30 years old with very obvious fictional origins.

The latter is quite ironic, particularly with regard to the FSM.

I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves that you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. Q.E.D."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

Worse than Scientology :p

More believable than Scientology surely?

;)

Not wishing to be to much of a Star Wars Nerd but the title of the thread should really read "Going to church, I will be". :D
