A friend has got an l200 animal (worth circa 22grand new??) on lease (07 reg) and has canceled it early. it was used for business and has been keyed and he was scraped the front wing and cracked the plastic bit Also a generator has been inthe back and so has scratched some of the paint off. Also his mileage was 17k in less than a year when the lease was for 12k per year for a 3 year lease.

Has anyone got any idea how much the lease company is going to charge him?? i assume hes going to get a huge bill.... any ideas how much he is going to have to pay??
thanks:)

Its going to be a lot, I would say best for him to get it to a bodyshop and get the bodywork sorted himself as it will probaly be a lot cheaper than what the lease company will charge for the repairs.

I would estimate the fee to be something like the remaining lease payments + a termination fee of about 500 quid + damage costs?

It might not be the full amount, most lease companies will be able to come to an arrangement, but I suggest your friend gets it sorted himself, as if he sends it back damaged they will put it right, at their pricing, and then pass it on to him!

Last time we did one at work, they wanted 13 Months worth of payments. This was 6 Months into a 3 year lease on a 30k/year basis, so it worked out pretty expensive for us.

He might get 3 seperate charges.

Early termination charge (1-6 months rental)
Excess mileage charge (2-10 pence per mile over the 12k)
Excess damage charge (key damage, damage to front wing however flat bed damage may be classed as fair wear and tear as its a working surface)

I've got an Audi A4 on lease worth circa £27K new. On a 2 year lease when I enquired after 6 months of leasing, they wanted 65% of remaining rentals as payment for terminating early in addition to any damage costs. This worked out to be about £8000/9000. He'll also remember that he'll have an excess milage charge of around 8-10p per mile.

does it not depend where it is leased from. My old man leased a C-Class Coupe from some random company. It had a few marks on it but when the collected they took it straight to auction and charged him nothing.

When he leased from audi direct they pickup every little mark on the car and charged him a small forutne.

He is going to get humped.
Now the car has gone back its going to be whatever they feel like charging for the repairs as well as the rentals.
