i'm not really a PC gamer as my PC isn't good enough, and when i do play i just use the xbox

i use the PC more for audio creation and photoshop aswell as watching moves (including HD files) etc..

this is what i am considering getting. can anyone suggest parts that would be better/more suitable.

i plan on OC'ing it and i would like for this new build to be fairly future proof.

i plan on getting a new GFX that has HMDI outs in the future

thanks all

I might be wrong! (Someone can slap me if i am)
But if your not playing games..I think that PC build will be a waste if not playing games!

it maybe worth looking at a HX520 rather then a HX620, as the 520 will easily power that PC, otehrwise it looks like a very good spec for gaming. look into getting better audio equipment if you want/need.

edit, a spec.

it is nearly idential to yours, iwth a few small changes

i put a hx520 in as i know its powerful enough. most people overestimate the power consumsion of their Pc.

i opted fro pc2-6400 ram, as this will allow you to have a FSB of 400MHz before your RAM will need Ocing, the q6600 has a multiplier range of between 6-9, your cpu clock speed is basicly the FSBxmultiplier, in simple terms. you also have 4GB of RAM here rather then 2GB. your maximum OC, before your will need to be OC'ed using the highest multiplier is 3.6GHz.

nope, you can self build nearly any type of pc cheaper, this forum quite often specs up photo editing machines or general media use machines :)

thanks for the input guys after reading around and from your replies it seems that i probably don't need this build.

can someone spec me somethign that would be very fast for photoshop and audio software aswell as HD file streaming

i would like it to be based around a quad core and have plenty for ram and GPU that's very capable for HD video files

hd2600 should be more then capable of HD streaming.

can someone confirm that the vx450 is powerful enough.
