Best Place to Buy a Guitar in Stoke on Trent

There are 3 major shops in Hanley, Stoke On Trent.

Sound Control is the main one with more choice.

If you want the big choice with anonymous staff who only care as long as you buy something go to Sound Control.

If you want a smaller choice but much nicer staff/friendly atmosphere go to Rhythm House. And tell Neil I said hi :D

Tbh if you want a Les Paul, they usually have a few in Rhythm House anyway. I buy stuff from both places (I play drums/guitar/keys and record with my band so there isn't one shop I can get everything from so I have to shop around). But IMO if I can get it from Rhythm House I usually do, just cuz the guys will stand around and have a chat with you while you test things out and always make sure you have the best thing for your money.

Oggie is a wonderful bloke but remember they're all in it to make money.
I get treated by Sound Control staff just as well as Rhythm House but thats because I've been gigging for 37 years and I've spent 10's of 1000's at both shops.
My old man is 74 and he gets treated like a Lord in Sound Control.
I bet even Oggie can't remember that Rhythm House was originally called Powerdrive and used to be nearly exactly opposite.

I know people who work in sound control as well, and like I said I buy stuff from both but imo I have a laugh when I'm in Rhythm House and they more often than not knock me money off, which is something Sound Control have only ever done if I've price matched them to an online price.

I used to buy stuff from Andy most of the time but he doesn't work at RH anymore, he's got his own shop in stafford. I've been across a few times and always end up spending hours in there just chatting and hanging out. Don't generally do that in Sound Control.

They're both good shops tho, not disputing that, just that I prefer RH.
