Hi all,

This has just come in stock at Overclockers - LG L227WT 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-054-LG&groupid=703&catid=17&subcat=949

Looks really good. Was wanting to spend roughly £450 on a 24" monitor but with all the problems people have had with Hyundai's and Dells I thinking sod it. Over £200 cheaper but its contrast ratio is superior, yes it's a lower rez but it's still better than 720p but not quite 1080p. At the end of the day if anything goes wrong with it you haven’t lost a fortune. What do people think?

Or should I still keep looking for the perfect 24" screen? I'll be doing a lot of gaming and HD movies.

Same position as me here, I am waiting to find the pearl as I wanted a 24", and I am now thinking of the samsung 2232 or the Iiyama 2201 PLE2201 (great reactivity for games and cheap)

help us please

I m going for the Iiyama 2201 or the Samsung peeble (or whatever the name is) 2232 even if the risks of getting a CMO panel is a possibility :mad:

£199 for the ZamZung and 193 for Iiyama

I've just seen this before you posted! It looks amazing! I'm seriously thinking about getting it.. I WAS going to get the pebble with its 3,000:1 ratio but this smacks it straight out of place with 'movie mode' @ 5,000:1.

What do you guys reckon to this monitor? Good buy?

Pebble 22" or LG L227WT 22"?

I still think the stand on the LG L227WT looks weird :P LOL

I have just reurned a 2232BW to one of my suppliers and overall I am disapointed. For the first 7 days it was quite perfect in some respects but after the Dogotal luminescence dropped on the 7th day and I began to get interference from my wireless network across the screen led me to believe that the workings of the monitor were not shielded correctly.
Needless to say I have returned the item and have now purchased an LG L226WTQ which has the Movie mode in 5000:1 contrast ratio the same as the 227. At the moment I have just plugged it in and am just using it via VGA to talk to you. I have not installed any software or drivers as yet but because I amjust assessing the monitor's perfomance without software or any Driver interrupts. I have not even calibrated it for an ICC profile as yet. That is how new it is. But I am a bit better off both pocket wise and eye wise. I get no interference so far with my wireless network and I am not going to go directly to using the DVI cable because I know on the Samsung I could not get the VGA connector to initialise after I had used the DVI input. Also you get less controll onDigital than you do on Analogue. The control I mean is the one where you get to choose the colour depth and viberance. You get to choose the Display signal strength and cycle.
For an objective point of view do a search on display problems associated with the Samsung 3000:1 contrast range of monitors. As for service - forget it.

What put u off the Hyundai W240D-PVA roey??

I have been looking at this monitor too, and the only problems i saw some people having was some backlight bleed (which all lcds monitors suffer from and eventually decreases with some use) and like a few people with inverse ghosting while others did have no inverse ghosting.

So i just decided to get the Hyundai W240D-PVA, as if i do get any defects (dead pixels for example) I'll just send it back for a replacement, and lol at this ''5 dead pixel return bs'' any defect you get with a product, you are intitles to get a full refund or get a replacement by consumer law so...

Did u hear of any other problems with the hyundai???

I ve just bought the samsung and the size 22 is good enough. The 24 would have too big for me I think, and having the 40 inches next to it for games with a controller is fine by me.

At the moment I am not disappointed and certainly cant complain about the price.

I would not pay £350 - 450 for a monitor now that I think about it :)
