As tittle really, my old W800i finally gave up the ghost, conveniently at the end of my contract so I upgraded to a shiny new W960i that I've had my eye on.

Think I got a good, deal 18 months@
£20 a month
750 txts
750 mins
£29 for the phone

My old sim turned out to be borked so pending picking up a new one today it will be up and running. If theres not already been loads of discussion, feel free to ask questions!!

Initial reactions are
Its very light for its size
Fairly well built although I'm not big on shiny plastic
Nicely packaged?? lol

I had been waiting for this for ages but when I saw a model in store, it seemed really big. I know it is thin but the actual width of it put me off a bit.

How does it feel to use?

I have it on O2 but I reckon I got such a good deal because I was upgrading/renewing at the end of a 2year contract with them, didn't really have to bargain all that hard with the telephone people to get i though.

Feels fine to me, certainly wide but not ungainly because its so light, getting used to the mix of keypad, touchscreen and scroll wheel is a bit odd for navigating as I'm used to a joystick. defo worthwhile going into a shop and asking to see a live handset if you have any doubts. On a side note, scroll wheel could do with being on the right hand side rather than the left, so i can use my thumb instead of other fingers for it.

That's a cracking deal, i've been looking at this as an upgrade from my W960i. The key's felt a little weird when I tried one, how you finding typing/texting on the phone?

18 month contract as stated in the OP.

I take it thats £29 one off payment not £29 extra a month for the phone like what 3 offer.

It doesn't sound like a bad phone and most of what's bad can be fixed by firmware :)

I'm starting to like it a lot.

Yeah...apparently I can upgrade in February (contract ends on May 11th). I'm seriously tempted by the N95 8gb.

Right a wee update following the deluge of replies, and photos forthcoming as soon as I get the camera out.

Eh it is a W960i?
Been using the handwriting recognition for all of my text so far, it's not a bad system however now I'm used to them the buttons seem fine though.

Haven't tried any web browsing yet but will do this evening.

Yep one of payment of £29 apparently it should be £89 or so.

Oh and i worked out that the scroll wheel on the left makes sense as I hold the phone in my left hand a lot if I'm using the stylus!!Duh!!

Edit, Loadding files onto the phone is a breeze too, I never bothered with the Sony software it drags and drops at a pretty sharp speed over the USB.

Any particular views wanted?

Thats a cracking deal then what you have got :)

Looking forward to see how the web browsing goes.

What application does it use?

Sorry, never owned a SE before :p

I think it uses opera. Click image for larger version, apologies for the shoddy photos but my poo camera has an even pooer macro mode! And getting an all black shiny phone not to show flash reflections was/is a nightmare!!

I'm tempted by this - but I don't like the walkman branding...

It makes it looks as though it's just a fancy MP3 player...which I guess it basically is :e
