Average Amount Of Chin Ups

Always overhand for me, I presume that means less exertion on the biceps.

It'll hit different parts of your body, but yes it will affect your biceps less.

The wider the grip the more stress it puts on the rotator cuff so be careful. Overhand will use more deltoid too.

You can try a variation doing a mixed grip which will "twist" your body a little, it is extra challenging though but a good for hitting other parts of the body.

I can normally do 10 x wide grip and 10 x Close grip after each other if im fresh for the 1st set but after that it gets lower and lower. Can easliy do 10+ tri dips too

Try this one.

When chinning, lean right back as you pull yourself up and pull the bar to your sternum/top of the abs. Awesome for changing it up and improving back development.

Wide grip about 12reps with body weight but i think its psychological barrier........I can do 8 with 20kgs chained on

6ft 85kgs

I like doing straight leg chin ups on the smith machine - I just lock the bar in high and pull up that way keeping my legs at 90degrees to my body, straight. It's hard work but good!

Wide grip palms facing inwards, body weight only managed 26:D Iam 5'8 and 180 lbs or 82Kgs.
I have a pull up bar on my kitchen door frame so ever time i make a brew i do a few sets of 20.
And most nights before i go to bed i do about 100.
Will try some close grip ones later when ive had a bit of a rest.

About 20, palms facing me. I find it easier palms facing away; not sure if thats the norm or not, i can do 25-30 before a rest that way

5' 10" / 10stone

when I had a chin up bar in my room at uni I could do over 30 long arm. Having the bar in your bedroom helps a lot, everytime I walked past it I would do a few. Was doing several hundred per week without even realising it :D

6'1 and 16 stone.
