A DVD-Video scaled to 1080p can look very good indeed, but the film must be a high bitrate, with minimal picture artefacts. Otherwise it won't look so good. The first DVD-Video I watched on my Samsung M87 was Schlinders List, picture quality is fantastic. It's a two discer.
I run my HD-DVD's via SPDIF and get 5.1 DD fine, audio sounds great to me!
Getting Blu-ray Friday - still gonna use SPDIF and get 5.1 DD. I would'nt worry to much about audio.

All joking aside HDaudio would be nice but im not prepared to spend £400 on an amp after not having my budget one for that long (2 yrs).
Is HDAudio leaps and bounds better that DD?
