Virgins English Rose plane

He wants to know if the Virgin aircraft, named English Rose, has a VoD system installed on it, presumably in cattle class?

It does, I've been on it, can't remember if it took me to Florida or Vegas though

edit/ it's not on demand as such though, you get a tv in the headrest and the entertainment is on a 2 hour or so loop and you can change the channel to pick what you want to watch, when the longest program ends the channels loop again.

2001 makes me think it's part of the cancelled Alitalia order? In which case it has PTVs based on the Nova system. Basically you'll get a handful of channels and not much more - no games and definitely no VoD.

English Rose is a Boeing 747-400. It will have the multimedia system.

generally Heathrow based 747s have video on demand where Gatwick and Manchester based ones do not

English Rose has a Super Nova system which is not AVOD

Oops, if thats the case I'm going to get lynched for booking Virgin from Gatwick to Florida.

Last three two flights were from Heathrow, with VOD.

Good job they screen you at the airport or I'm sure to get stabbed by my family for not realising this fact.

IMO.....Who Cares....Random Question :D

Actually it's an extremely sensible question by GD standards. If I'm ever flying it would be nice to know what on board entertainment there is so I know if to take my own or not. Without VOD I would always encode my own video onto my iPod to watch.
