Stuck on RS:Vegas (Spoilers)

I'm stuck on the dam bit where you gotta open the flood gates, and as your team-mate is hacking the computer you get a swarm of enemys coming..

I have no problem with this, I aint dying or nothing it's just after around 1 minute of me telling him to hack it I get this

"Game Over

You have failed to open the floodgates in time"

so what I got a minute to kill like 20 enemys or something? I'm lost and it's annoying the hell outta me :(
 
Odd, this is exactly as far as i have gotten on it aswell, will wait and shower someone who tells us how to do it with love.
 
You get guys coming from behind you too, I used to get that same message when they fired on the team - I think they can damage the controller he's hacking.

Thank god i'm not the only one, I thought it was some type of bug I encounted and would have to start again.. :(

Ah yeah! it worked :)

3 or 2 people come from behind, then it's pretty easy after that.

I know you have done it now but...

The way I did it was... As soon as it activated the enemies to spawn i ran straight to where the main bulk come and through some gnades to take out a fair few. I then 180'd and took the small group that comes from behind. I then just picked off any remaining stragglers from the front assault. :)
