Hi,

Right my contract is up in 3 weeks so I'm starting to look at new phones.

So I was looking for ideas........ the only 2 big must haves are MP3 support (what phone does not do that these days) and the ability to sync my contacts with outlook. When I last looked that limits me to windows mobile devices is that still the case?

I currently have a MDA Vario but to be honest I'd really be looking for something a little thinner although its not the end of the world if not.

Any advise/info would be great.
Cheers

Look at the symbian smartphones then, they sync just fine (obviously play MP3s), and are much smaller than the PDA aimed HTC phones... Nokia; Nseries: N95-8Gb, N81, N82 Eseries: E51, E71 etc...

Yea I've had a look at buying direct but I was thinking more of a contract phone......

On the nokia phones - Carphone warehouse told me that they don't sync with outlook

As one Carphone Warehouse manager once told me "it's better to give a wrong answer than no answer at all".

Nokia S60 (Symbian) phones will sync with Outlook. And Windows Address Book and Lotus Notes and Apple iSync. They'll even sync with Google Calender with 3rd party software.

Great ok so I guess I won't go there again. What about the software for the N series ?

How about the rest of the big names and their software?

Cheers for the info though.

What big names, and what software? What do you want to do with it? I can tell you yes or no or point you in the right dirrection. SymbianOS can probably do 90% of whatever you want it to do... WM5 is rarely "better" for anything...

Actually up to WM6 now, but anyway..

Serious business phone = HTC/Blackberry (everyone I know hates theirs)
Cool kid on the block phone = N Series.
Other alternative = SE P Series or the Nokia E series.

Thats how it breaks down.

Sorry i know that its just habbit. Although i'm looking forward to the big step away from current WM devices with WM7, if they pull this off right it could be fantastic...

Sony ericson and samsung people like that do their phones software allow the syncing of outlook contacts with the phone?

Oh and I like my HTC :P
