Another chav thread (i think i did a good deed today)

So today, i was walking back from town with the girlfriend at around 4pm, and was walking into the park (amusingly carrying a pouffe that she'd just bought) when a couple of chavs sprinted across the road in front of us. One was carrying a box of Stella and the other shouted 'dont drop it'. It was quite clear to see they had just nicked it, and had just come out of the back of M&S (opposite the park). This was confirmed when a security guard came sprinting after them, and chased them into the park.

We heard them jump over a low fence and drop the box of Stella just isnide the park. A second later we came round the corner (going through the proper gates to the park) and saw that they had run off, and left the security guard picking up the bottles. So we carried on walking, and then surprisingly the chavs came back into that area of the park. One sat down on a bench (about 50m from the security guard i guess) when another starting walking towards him. The security guard was on his knees still picking up the bottles with his back to them. The chav starting looking around to see who was watching (um, a lot of people; it was fairly busy) and started to creep up on the guard. He got to about 20m away and me and my girlfriend started thinking 'um whats he going to do here'. Bearing in mind the security guard still had his back to him and had no idea he was there. So the chav got closer and then put his hood up! We then thought 'oh crap whats he going to do?!' so my girlfriend got her phone out ready to call the police. Bearing in mind there was a lot of people watching and no one had done anything yet.. i just thought 'sod it' and yelled 'Oi!' across to the chav/security guard. Fortunately the guard looked up and saw that the chav was coming up behind him. The chav got a bit confused and started walking away. To be honest i started walking away as i was a bit wary what the chav might/could do. But i'm pretty certain that once the guard knew the chav was there, the chav wouldnt have tried anything on.

It was pretty scary when the chav put his hood up, just sneaking up behind the security guard. At worst i guess he was gonna push him over and grab the beer, but you never know and it just wasnt worth waiting to find out! I honestly couldnt believe he was sneaking up on him. Just for a lousy 12 pack of Stella!? :confused: Madness! :confused:

And why didnt the security guard go after them instead of the beer? Surely the beer is replaceable and they'd be far better off punishing those that (try to) steal? :confused:
 
Well done for shouting across, a lot of people would have watched it happen. It's amazing what lengths some people will go to for ****s and giggles.

Yeah...I'd pick the easier option too. He gets paid by the hour, not by the scumbags caught.

True, But surely that's the problem nowadays. These scumbags need to know that if they're caught that they're gonna be punished. 2 on 1 isnt fair, but i'm willing to bet that if he picked one to run after that the other would have just scarpered. And i'm sure he had a radio to call for someone else, too.

It really freaked me out when the chav put his hood up. I know it's a bit of a cliché in the papers etc.. but this guy did look like he would do something nasty just for the fun of it. You know how you can tell 'poser' chavs from ones that actually look dangerous. Even in my small town!

I think the fact that i was carrying a pouffe too just completely confused him :p

I'd get my keyboard out, and follow up with a joystick. and then hang him with my usb
 
Probably no point in trying to catch them, a tonne of paperwork and he'll probably have to fight allegations that he abused them whilst dragging them back to the store/detaining them for the police. All the police would probably have done is issue them a warning and that's it.

Didnt really know how else to refer to him. Should i have tried 'the young fellow' or something? :) I think it was pretty fair to call him a chav, considering he'd just nicked some beer and looked like he was about to attack the security guard or something..

good for you, i always try to uphold the law in this sort of situation, including chasing after two shoplifters myself, one got away :rolleyes: but i managed to rugby tackle the other to the ground, that was pretty cool :cool::p.
