NOthing displayed on screen after installation of drivers

well i've recently reformatted my other comp however once i installed the New forceware drivers (169.21) and restarted the comp i get to the login screen however once logged in there is no picture but i can still hear the windows sounds

did it work without drivers?

if so try using older drivers in, as the new ones may not support your card

It worked with no drivers however i cant get into windows to uninstall

how about putting the hdd into a second pc as a slave drive

take over permission of the drive if there is a password

transfer all needed files to 2nd pc

format the drive

put windows in again


or wait for someone to post an alternative option

hmmmm, nm, mine knocks out signal when windows loads the drivers. Could be related?


(Are you using dvi? try vga?)

Go into Safe Mode then and uninstall there.

my father has an 8400gs card in his pc and downloaded drivers from windows update only days ago, blank screen. I uninstalled them for him in safe mode and rebooted, everything fine. so i went to the nvidia site and downloaded them manually and installed, same thing so i had to go back to old drivers.

looks like the new ones hate older cards, or less powerful ones anyway.. seems a bit odd to me
