Heh for festival goers there are a bunch of sissy responses in this thread! A bit of rain is nothing to stop you having a great time... ill give you the queue to get in was a total joke but other than that i had an amazing weekend last year

No problem with the rain... The problem was foot deep mud by Sat night in many areas - All around the main arena, all around the camping site... All because the organisers didn't simply put down proper walk ways...

There was generally just a half-assed approach to organisation to much of the event. Almost 'that'll do + we save some money'...

Seriously... I recon it's just a money making exercise now...

Sorry if this is a bit of a thread revival but i thought that this was better than starting a new one!

Firstly, can anyone remember when abouts the lineup was announced before the event last year? Im deffinately getting a ticket for the weekend!

Do the camping tickets sell out? I dont think ill be able to afford the ticket until reasonably close to the event this year, fingers crossed!

Has anyone else bought there ticket yet? (they went on sale on the 17th of decemeber and are still earlybird prices)

Rob

A pair of wellies were a must last yeah yes.. but you wouldn't want walkway covering everywhere would you? a field with however many thousand people and rain is bound to get muddy so wellies would be necessary regardless... and if you already have a pair you dont really need walkways.... cept while falling over drunk into the mud, that would not be pretty :)

Yeh... The poor people who had their wellies nicked from outside their tents last year weren't happy! (Obviously by people who didn't take any)

After GK Global Gathering NYE 2000, I've lost all faith in the GK crew.

Ah, Lotherton Hall :D

Global has gone down hill each year since it started, although 03 was immense. They've always been in it for the money, they're a business and that'll never change. You've only got to look a the production values in the GK tent to see that. They could do loads to help people when it's boggy, but they don't. Last year I was standing on the beach arena stage before they opened and they only started putting hay down on the mud baths at 4pm!

They're always going to pull in 50k from now on easily, so they'll carryon spending the least possible as they have no reason to change it and bugger all competition left.

Line up will be announced around April time (possibly May), and will be done at the end of the month to coincide with their weekly night at Air with a 'launch party'

Camping does usually pretty much go, though daily tickets can alway sbe had, they never actually sell out totally.

Ah cheers i thought it was somewhere around that time. After last year i really don't think the weekend can be anything but better, i no the prices are extortionate bu as said, Godskitchen is a business after all. We were happy to go back to the car to get leather, then go back in and only needed to buy a few cans whilst we were in there.

Besides which, its only about a 35 minutes drive from my house which is a bonus! Though they better sort out the entry to the site! That was farse!

I've never queued to get into the site, there's some nice back roads you should check out up some country lanes and accross a field ;)

Noooo i meant the queueing to get searched (the part we all love). As for driving, we know the backroads ;)

Ah, oops! Yeah they are daft each year, not helped by them never letting people in on time. Thankfully I can get in nice and early so don't have to queue. Go me  lol

Indeed, and then no attempt to organise the queue through the main entrance, People were just walking past the queue to join at the front of it (people arriving late, just walked by people who had been waiting in line for 2hrs), so it just turned into a farce of a scramble...

The organisers got their money so they don't care...

That was by far the most annoying part and really put a dampener on the first day. I deffinately think that beer should be allowed to taken into the camping area like 2006, i emailed the organisers regarding this and in the reply they conveniently didnt even acknowledge i'd asked about this!

As for not being able to take water into the arenas, that was just ridiculous considering its in the middle of the summer, so (potentially) it could be quite hot.
