29th & 30th Football *Spoilers*

Is it just me or does anyone else think Paul Merson is a clown. I know Soccer Special takes a light hearted approach to things but the bloke is clueless and you do not get any feeling for what is going on at the game he is covering.

Think yourself lucky he was our manager for 2 years and bought disaster!

Well last season would be a prime example..... Arsenal barely scraped into the top 4, and yet their league results against the rest of the big4 were formidable:

-Beat Man Utd home and away
-Undefeated against Chelsea
-Beat Liverpool at the Emirates

Compare this to the winning side, Manchester United. They lost both games against Arsenal, and failed to beat Chelsea home and away.

So clearly, the games between the top4 DON'T always decide the title, you only have to go back to last season to illustrate this :)

good result today, usually not too hot against wigan

just need to beat the geordies on sunday now :D

SSN was just cracking me up tonight , merson and his bolton hatred , the comments about a crane been used to lift midos legs .

Hoping for the following team tonight:

VdS
Brown
Ferdinand
Vidic (if fit - otherwise O'Shea at RB and Brown CB)
Evra
Ronaldo
Anderson
Scholes
Nani
Tevez
Rooney

I'm guessing Fergie might rotate a bit tonight with Spurs away to come on Saturday. Rather have Hargreaves and Giggs play Saturday. If he had the option I'm sure Tevez would get a rest tonight but I don't think we can unless he plays Ronaldo with Rooney and brings in Park.

I'd like to see Carrick play tonight but its best to get Scholes upto scratch, and Anderson was left out Sunday so I'm expecting him to start.

Official lineup:

VDS

Brown
Vidic
Rio
Evra

Park
Scholes
Carrick
Nani

Ronaldo
Rooney

Bench: PIG, O'Shea, Hargreaves, Anderson, Tevez

Good team, expected Anderson to play though. Giggs gets a night off.

Thats fair enough Scholes needs the run out and he needs someone to protect him

If we get out of reach from Portsmouth then stick them on together, see how they go

Not bad, think he's protecting Anderson a bit. He used to send Ronaldo home for a couple of weeks when he first joined. Think this is Andersons rest period but with a slight difference that Scholes and Hargreaves are not exactly 100% so he needs to sit on the bench in case rather than completely rest.

Be interesting how that team gels together playing with a slight system change and a change of a few players.

On a side note looking forward to seeing a Anderson Scholes partnership soon.

4 of us in the house put a tenner (£2.50 each, lol) on Man Utd, Man City, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool all win on an accumulator, 15/1 :p

Should be fun watching the results, quite a few pints if it comes in :D

Spurs starting XI for Everton tonight, Woodgate makes his debut, Gunter plays his Prem debut (I think?) and Chimbonda plays so he's not leaving WHL in this window!

12 Cerny
0 Woodgate
2 Chimbonda
14 Gunter
25 Lennon
24 O'Hara
8 Jenas
15 Malbranque
22 Huddlestone
10 Keane
9 Berbatov

You fools! :D

Don't EVER bet on Spurs.... I wouldn't even back them against my pub team and I wouldn't bet against them vs Real Madrid, just one of those teams!

Haha I know, they're my local Premiership team (Seven Sisters yo), have a mate who's a season ticket holder so been up there a few times and around the lane for match days, this season has been bad enough and they're only my adopted team :p

Still, I have faith  If one breaks the accumulator though I'm pretty sure it'll be that one..! Apologies in advance if they lose now :p

I assume Woodgate and Chimbo in central defence and O'Hara at LB again? :o

just looks at manu's lineup and Giggs is injured, and looks like Nani is Rooney's strike partner looking at Setanta sports, must be a mistake.
