When i download Videos from Live Marketplace and watch them i only get sound!no image

As title...It happend to me ages ago and thought it was just a messed up file from live, i just downloaded the Fable2 diary (HD) and proceeded to watch it to find i could hear the sound but nothing else...once it was playing i could not bring up the 360 blades or anything...does this for all the videos i download now that are in hd.....Any ideas....

ive had this too, I dont know how to fix it.

I was on a hd tv with a vga cable. you ?

Only sensible suggestion I can suggest is to try the same thing in SD mode or with Component (I am assuming that you are using VGA).

All this will do is tell you whether there is an issue on your console/account/settings or whether it is a video fault due to the connection type etc.

Are you able to isolate when the problem started (ie was it after a Live Update or something like that?)

I can't play the HD movie previews over VGA on either of my monitors, I get sound and a green mess of broken picture. I assumed that it didn't work over VGA because copy protection or something?

Yeah could well be that they're HDCP protected. I had a problem playing files recorded at 25fps over VGA. The solution was to knock the 360's resolution down to 640x480 and it then worked a treat.

Interesting, I am surprised this problem is not more widespread considering that a lot of people on this forum use VGA, and I have never seen it mentioned, but you learn something new every day, and to be fair the VGA mode does funny stuff for some games and BC titles too, so is plausible as the fault.

As far as I'm aware there's no protection so it shouldn't make a difference.

I've never had a problem playing/watching anything over VGA. I'll certainly have a go playing that movie when I get home tonight and see if I have a similar problem.
