Crysis engine will be shown on 360/PS3 at GDC

The Crysis 360 saga continues today with the announcement that Crytek will be showcasing its CryENGINE 2 running on multiple platforms including the Xbox 360 and PS3 at GDC next month. Given the tug-of-war that has taken place regarding the often rumored Crysis port for consoles, this is particularly juicy information.

Dont expect it to be as nice as PC but be interesting to see how its looks.

Seeing as you need a expensive pc to run it at high+ I wouldnt mind seeing a water down runnable version on the 360

It will be ***p on 360/PS3 because they just don't have the power (like the PC has) to deal with the Big Boy games :cool:

Well I've played and enjoyed it on PC so not really bothered about a console release. I guess making it available to more people can only be a good thing though.

I don't know whats worse, PC fanboys saying that consoles can't handle 'proper' games or console fanboys dismissing anything that isn't on a console as a tech demo.

Crytek told 1up that 5000 copies of Crysis were being downloaded illegaly an hour at one point. No wonder it never broke even. Going to both consoles was an obvious step.

I am no PC fanboy and did not say consoles can't handle 'proper' games I said it will not handle crysis very well at all i remember crytek saying they would have a problem with the ammount of ram consoles have (360 512mb and PS3 256mb)

Anyway it is a fact that PC's have more power for better GFX and bigger games.

EA are predominantly a console market company though, so it's no surprise. It's the worst kept secret in gaming that this was getting shown on consoles.

I hope it does come out for the consoles I want to pay it but I cant afford to buy an uber mega computer to run it
