1) Yeh it should be find just unlock it from the FSB when you overclock
2) No idea i run a E6600 at 3.2 ghz in my media pc so you should be able to get more.
3) Dont use the overclocking suite overclock in the bios only, Just set you ram to it max rated voltage and increase the FSB a little prime it for a bit, If its stable knock it up a little more, so on and so on
4) Only adjust the CPU and ram voltages leave all the others on auto, I wouldnt go much above 1.45v with air cooling
Its the chipset not the board, there's just the same amount of horror storys with EVGA and XFX boards.
Asus PC Probe II is picking this MB temp at around 57c ish, i know this mobo does get hot, is this an okay temp? Is it worth doing anything to try cool it better if i can?
Also at the moment i'm using the 0402 Bios version, things seem to be working okay i guess, should i just stuck with this version?
Cheers.
Using a BGF 8800GTX on the board, its placed on the lowest PCIe2.0 slot of the board too, (the first slot closest to the CPU dosen't seem to work, as it dosen't post with the card in :S )
damn thought soI'll probably end up giving it an RMA, one thing im worried about is i am not sure if i have the cover for the CPU slot, which is required on an RMA of the mobo i think.
Still debating on Sli or just one really good card too...
I might do that, in that case, should i use the same mobo i have? or when i end up upgrading again, get a better mobo for a single card, and good for overclocking my CPU a bit. Just want to try get a good, 'futureproof' mobo, so i don't have to change it for a real long time![]()
