Anyone else enjoying the 67th slow motion replay of Ronaldo's free kick?
Great free kick...but I mean, there's bound to be a floor of used tissues in that Sky studio.

) so this could have just been a fluke
i didn't even realise pool were playing tonight actually, weird.

Over the past few months they have been a lot better to be fair. Ratio of ball-to-wall has dropped anyway I reckon. If I see him hitting more like that into the top corner I can be proven wrong. Beckham's style of freekicks were a lot more technical than just booting it as hard as you can. No real technique there.
I don't think you will be proved wrong. His style is so unconventional that he will sky 10 for every 1 he scores, but the few that go in look absolutely spectactular. Beckham was a far superior free kick taker in his day.It was a really good freekick but unfortunately most football fans saw Ronaldo at the beginning of the season hitting freekicks as hard as he could straight into the wall (even Man U fans got annoyed by this - they probably think he's the new Beckham at freekicks now mind) so this could have just been a fluke

Now that's a funny post!!We don't need to finish 4th, well just win it, again.

To be fair it takes amazing technique to be able to kick the ball as hard as Ronaldo did tonight, while still managing to get it over the wall and under the bar. Simply kicking the ball as hard you can will result in the ball either hitting the wall, or ending up in row Z.

Have you ever played football??![]()
I agree, it's a little unfair to say there's no technique involved. The problem is that using that technique makes having full control of the ball almost impossible a lot of the time.To be fair it takes amazing technique to be able to kick the ball as hard as Ronaldo did tonight, while still managing to get it over the wall and under the bar. Simply kicking the ball as hard you can will result in the ball either hitting the wall, or ending up in row Z 100% of the time.
