Never heard of one, how does a filter help focus closer i wonder, must look into that. (is it like reading glasses for a lens?)

It's basically just a 5x magnifier that sits on the end of the lens. The Raynox ones have adjustable attachments that'll fit most lenses. Increasing focal length increases magnification and focusing distance, but drops DoF down to practically zero.

They are impressive shots for having been taken with a magnifier attachment. The flash helps give good light of course.
