I popped into the corner shop on my way home from work, picked up a few bits and bobs and there were a couple of kids buying some sweets.

One was served, then his mate came over, trying to push infront of me, not that I was that bothered, but his mate then came out with the immortal words "you should show respect for old people".

I just said "Old, ok, cheers", paid for my goods and left the shop.

Is 44 now considered as old?

My gift for you!

Haha, on a serious note when you're a kid you think anyone who looks like an adult is old!

i always refer to anyone visibly older than me as 'mr so-and-so' or 'ms so-and so' rather than using their first name - unless i know them through work or socially

i don't know why - i'd like to think it's a respect thing, and i'd be upset if anyone took offense at it
i wouldn't say 44 was 'old' - but then my parents are in their late fifties and i don't think of them as old - old people are older than my parents :p

Same thing happened to me when i was arguing with a couple of workmen a week or so ago. When we got to the point where we should have fought one of the dudes said to me I can't hit an Old Man :( I was so gutted I just walked off, It took me about 3 days to get over it :p
Next time I'll hit them with my keyboard a few times & claim they attacked an old man & the injurys caused were merely through self defence :D
Pesky Kids !!!!

WHAT!?!!?

Where is that from? I've seen that before (I think in the Simpsons) but can't find its original source if you know what I mean (about the, erm, red crystal not it's shampoo)

Logan's run.

When you get older and the crystal turns red you get put in a zero-g dome and shot with lasers to control the population :)
