Can someone spec me a cheap water cooling system. Say under £100? Nothing fancy.

It will be my first water cooling attempt, should i go custom or just buy a Kit?

tbh, you may struggle for £100.. your best bet would be to look on a popular auction site :)

From OCUK:

Alphacool NexXxoS Xtreme lll Rev2 Triple Radiator £26.99
(£31.71) £26.99
(£31.71)
EK Supreme Acetal (Socket A,754,939,AM2, 478 and LGA 775) CPU Water Block EK Supreme Acetal (Socket A,754,939,AM2, 478 and LGA 775) CPU Water Block £30.99
(£36.41) £30.99
(£36.41)
D-Tek DB-1 (DD-CPX1) 12VDC Pump D-Tek DB-1 (DD-CPX1) 12VDC Pump £28.99
(£34.06) £28.99
(£34.06)
Swiftech MCRES-Micro Watercooling Resevoir Swiftech MCRES-Micro Watercooling Resevoir £9.99
(£11.74) £9.99
(£11.74)

Comes to £113 inc vat, and that doesn't include connects, tubing or fluid - these will add another £12 or so, and then it'll be a tenner for delivery.

Hate to be a killjoy, and I've nothing against OCUK, but you'll struggle to buy new for £100 unless you get a cheap kit - and high end air will blow low end water out of the.. water.

:)

breakdowns, cheapo, more "power rangers" than "performance"

Absolutely. I went from a Big Water SE to Custom setup and the Big Water SE was just such a big waste of money!

Tbh, still have that SE kit sitting in the garage doing nothing - I dont think I'd even inflict on some poor sap on MM :D

Ok, thanks for all your imput. I have purchased my water cooling parts now, which should be delivered sometime next week. What's the best way to order them?

Res - Rad - Pump - cpu block - res?

Any tips on where to place them as well??

Thanks,
Paul.E

res output should go to pump inlet, other then that, choose the shortest route, generally res should be at the highest point of loop but only really for the sake of filling/bleeding, pump near the bottom of the loop

Have a gander of this thread for ideas for placement http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17305236&highlight=watercooled

Order of the Series isn't huigely important - its mainly down to personal preference. My old Custom H2O system was

Res -> Pump -> Rad -> CPU -> GPU -> Res

Simply as I thought this would give me the best water temp when hitting the CPU Block.

As for placement in the case, again, personal preference and where ever you have room. Although having Res up high in the case can be a help for bleeding.
