Tekken 5:DR Online Ass Whoopin, Arrangin, Thread (PS3)

Did anyone manage to get an online game in the end. I tried for a while but still got the network error message and thrown back to the title screen.
 
I'll try that tonight. Everytime I refreshed before, the list kept changing anyway :confused: Anyway, I'll keep at it and see how I get on.

I've had a look at my connection settings and my NAT is type 2. Is that anything to do with my problems ?

NAT type 2 is OK. As robgmun said, the list changes after the refreshes. The initial list you see is always a list of people you cannot connect to. Never figured out why it is (I am assuming the people in the list have wrong NAT type).

so we have some fancy ass whoopin sessions tonight, it would seem.

Anyone else apart from me and the_morrell? (My gamertag thing is rp2000)

(I am excited as I have not yet played this online in 2008!!)

Man this game is addictive!!! Losing hours of sleep and don't care.

I am however, getting my ass handed to me regularly. Is there any character thats a lot better than the others or is it just my general lack of skill.

Also, does anyone use the analogue sticks as I use the d-pad. Am i missing out or should just keep plodding away and hope that by blind luck I win an online match eventually !!
 
Been trying to get into this, however i can only ever seem to find 1 room if i'm lucky. When i join said room the lag is so bad it is utterly unplayable. Anything i could be doing wrong? Used to love tekken 3, would really like to get this working.
 
I know what you mean, it is pretty hit and miss getting a game full stop let alone one that is playable.

Only advice I can give is to refresh a few times and cross your fingers :)

Tried for 20 mins constantly the other night and couldn't get a game at all. It just kept reporting a network error and throwing me back to the main title screen, so its not just you having the problems.

As with any fighting game, lag really effects it, try and play with people off here with a good connection and you will have a much better time.

And you will have no problems with the likes of Warhawk or CoD4, Burnout etc.
 
When we gonna set up an arse whooping evening then? Loads of people have this game now, and I am out of practice!! Hell, even the joystick might need some oiling as I haven't used it for so long!

News on update to Tekken 5 DR

Tekken Dark Resurrection Getting Free Update
New modes and rumble support.

US, March 11, 2008 - Bandai Namco Games announced today an update for the Japanese version of Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection Online, the online-ready PlayStation Network version of the arcade fighter. The free update adds new modes and gameplay fixes to the game.

Here's a list of major changes:


* Pickup Match Mode: a mode where you continually face off in one-on-one matches without having to got through a matching room. You can set conditions to search for an opponent, then battle the same opponent repeatedly, or have the computer search for new opponents following each match.

* Dual Shock 3 rumble support

* You can now create and display names for rooms

* Adjustments to allotment of points when winning and losing battles

* "Flag" option added to room creation and searching, allowing you to create and search for rooms that have been flagged with specific conditions

* Players who are waiting for their turn to fight will be alerted via sound effects and rumble when the time has come.

* When Rank Match has been set to off, your win/loss is no longer recorded and you do not earn battle points.


The update will be available to owners of the Japanese version of Dark Resurrection on March 18 starting at 1:00PM. To access it, you'll simply have to start up the game.

We don't have details on the international version of the update yet, but we do expect it to be available at around the same time.

p.s. is the above mentioned update out for UK version of this game? I played today and didn't get prompted for anything.
