Do you love your car?

I've been happily un-single for well over a year. She doesn't get 'seriously unpleased' if I buy the wrong car, so its all good :p

She must get seriously unpleased at your postcount here though, every time I look I swear there's another 1,000 added on :p

To be fair I think Fox has been a member here longer than me  And I've got a stupidly high post count considering I hardly ever post!

edit: ok he has a fair few more than me :p

i'm quite fond of the way it looks and the freedom it gives me, can't say I really love it though, its shortcomings in the power and handling prevent it. I think if I had a Cyborg model i'd really love it though, the thought of my car with much more power and grip, much stiffer, much reduced body roll, much improved balance, feel, braking, recaro seats, momo wheel etc.. the thought of all that stuff turns me on a little bit :p

I love my car.
Its a Rover 214, which makes it bad enough, but its dirty, someone nicked the hubcabs, the central locking went wrong and whatever broke is the bit in the door and it rattles, water leaks through one of the rear light seals, the paint is a bit dodgy on one wing when I didn't use it for a couple of weeks and some bird mess was on there and when the previous owner put in a CD player they didn't connect it to the arial. But I don't care - its mine and I love it. I don't obsess over cleaning every inch of it, but I do love it.

i hate my car it was only intended as an inbetween from selling the ibiza to geting the leon but finding the right buy has been hard plus my eif wanting somthing faster and bigger sort of knackard it a lot

Yes, done 2300 miles in 25 days,

That's only about 90 miles a day, a daily commute for some of us :)

I used to love my 1999 Saab 93 HOT Sport Coupe in Monte Carlo yellow. No idea why I got rid of it, really.

The Cerb is OK but I wouldn't say I love it.

My daily is 82 miles [must buy a car with better economy] !

I sold my Impreza and couldn't talk about it for 2 days. Not kidding.

At the moment, I love my Jeep. Its thirst is shocking. Its quite small inside considering its footprint. I suspect the 'box isn't going to last very long. Its had 4 new tyres and needs a new exhaust. It was only supposed to be a weekend toy to take apart and play with but can't stop driving it.

1990 Rover Metro - Awesome little car, cost about £10 a year to run
1990 Escort Ghia - horrible little PoS car, was glad to get rid of the damn thing
2001 Ford Fiesta Freestyle - great car, handled well and was very comfortable
1996 MX5 1.8i - best car in the world. She's being very understanding at the moment because I just can't afford to spend any money on her, even though I know she'd love new shocks and springs, a new turboed engine and a complete wash and wax (this one's down to weather and laziness, though!)

Love is a bit strong but I did have a bit of a sentimental attachment to my Hyundai Pony. The 306 was quite special in its own way but not on the same scale as the Hyundai.

My Octavia and I haven't bonded yet :p

That will change if/when you share a bank account ;)

I loved my Mazda when i got it, i loved it even more when i supercharged it, as winter blues set in i fell a little out of love with it so i decided i'd had my fun and sold it.

I don't love my current car like i loved the Mazda, but i do like it in many respects.

Peugot 405 1.9D - Ye, it was my 1st car and good memory's in it ;)
Civic EK 1.4i - Ye, 1st steps into modding. And proudly one of the loudest exhaust about! lol
MR2 GT-T T-Bar 2.0i Turbo - Love it (still do) great car, a good few problems with it but never held them against it. Got it looking how I wanted it, couldn't afforded to engine mod due to insurance but it was fast enough and fun enough. (wrote it off :( - only hit a kirb but killed the suspension)
Surabru Impreza MY98 UK Turbo Wagon - Huge come down from the MR2 but its growing on me. Its probably too easy to drive, not as involving, no as much feedback, no as much fun. But im learning you can just throw it at corners and it will come out the other side facing the right way. Maby some day i will love it, but nothing can replace my MR2 (though i will be getting another one)

I never really loved my rst - it was what I could afford at the time. I do love the sierra for sure. I have wanted one for 10 years and it has not failed to deliver on what I expected at all.

I like my mondeo, but even when my mate crashed into it at the weekend infront of me I wasn't that bothered. Its a workhorse, that's all.

No, its a mass production white good and if it got stolen and i never saw it again it wouldnt matter. Thankfully Mercedes made thousands of them and they are all the same off a production line, so i can just buy another one.

A simplified way of looking at it, but ultimately i would only be annoyed at the inconvinence of the car going rather than the car itself.

But they are several years old - they were the same when they came off the production line but after different owners with different attitudes, are not the same now.
