Ok so around a week back there was a storm that blew though at 60 miles an hour, we had a tonado in the county below us. Then a few days back it snowed prob. 5 inches & this coming mondey/tuesday it is gonna storm bad again. As for the temps. first storm they were 50ish F. then after the cold front they were 25ish F. then the snow came a few days later, now it 50ish F.again. Oh & for more carziness, I think I heard on the News the rain coming up might end up turning to snow.

Where abouts in the Mid-West are you at the moment?
We drove up to Chi-town on Thursday night through the blizzard. It was freezing tempretures, now it's in the 50's and it's going to be icy cold again tomorrow night??? lol

South Wisconsin here - currently got freezing rain and up to 9 inches of snow forecast for tomorrow into Weds. At least it's not -40 windchill anymore :o

I love the Midwest - tornadoes and amazing storms in spring/summer, tons of snow and crazy temps in winter. We get "normal" weather as well occasionally :p

Isn't crazy weather normal for the US Midwest?

Oh and what's 50F in real temperature ;) ?

1) Agreed I think, from what my sister says about the area. Though saying that our weather here is very temperate and mild compared to big meanie weather systems which they have over there.

2) Why do people still use degrees F? It's a totally non sensical scale, the guy who invented it was a noob and there are I think a few pointless features of it http://www.straightdope.com/classics/a4_188.html

70 degrees and mega thunderstorms this morning lol - what the hell ?? It's meant to be freezing cold and snowy!! I want to go snowboarding friday!

Weather here has been silly to say the least lately, we've gone from ice to 80c and back in the space of 24hrs. The wind has been none stop 40mph gusts and my allergies plain bloody suck :/

So last night the weather turned a bit extreme. Watching family guy in bed and it got cut to the national weather warning 80's signal lol - tornado warnings in your area please be warned etc.
Flicked the weather on and said due to hit around 40mins time.
Try and go to sleep and then the tornado sirens go off (sounds like what you would imagine WW2 sirens). With tornado's being spotted and deaths being reported, g/f, myself and the puppies head down to the basement as suggested. Leave the TV on loud so we can here - annonucement for our area was just stating that some funnel clouds were developing in our area (about 500 yards away) and then all the power cut out :(
Winds were incerdible and extremely loud.
Lots of power cuts this morning, luckily ours are back on.
Looks like it has left quite a mess in a few places!

Heard on the news this morning that 7 people had died in freak tornadoes across the Midwest. Lets hope it passes quickly.

Yeah, sounded nasty - 44 deaths reported down south :(

We currently have a complete white-out here - I'm looking out the window right now and I can't see anything past a few feet. We're supposed to have 12" snow and "thundersnow", a phrase that always makes me chuckle :p They've actually closed the schools here, so it must be bad......they never close unless it's extreme.

It only has to drop a couple inches here and all hell breaks out. Schools close and everyone panics. Strange when it snows every week or so lol
