Anyone else watching this on BBC One? (David Attenborough documentary based on Reptiles)

A snake can go upto a year without food, after having a meal such as a Deer.

I love programmes like this, and Planet Earth :)

yeah he is great, should check out his life collection as im sure you'd like it, especially the later series.

anyone know if virgin od have this as i was watching lost instead and missed it?

I watched about 30 minds of it.

I loved the wrestling frogs. They looked so funny. He said they sometimes fight for 30 mins, then just go their seperate ways as they get so tired. :D

I was a bit annoyed it wasn't on BBC HD though :(

It was excellent. I read that the BBC can no longer afford to make programmes like this, and it's unlikely we'll see anything of this quality again. I find that a little hard to believe, but judging by the rubbish on the BBC at the moment maybe the cuts are having an effect?

I recently wrote an essay on reptile hearing, so I will be hoping that they might include some insight towards the massive diversity of hearing in this group. Also I would love the programme to be from a evolutionary perspective, and since the next episode is the amphibians, I may be in for a pleasant suprise.

David Attenborough is awesome. It's such a shame there's nobody really of the same standing to replace him when he does finally stop making series.

Yeah watching it too.The guy is a genius love his programmes

i have a great amount of respect fro this guy. I've been watching his programs all my life and it's really opened my eye to the world around me. My kids have just started to watch some of his program now, so that a whole new generation who will benifit from his knowledge and programs.

I'm not sure thats fair, there are plenty of people equally passionate about media and the wildlife. Davie A simply represents a personallity we associate with wild life documentaries, I am confident that he will be adequately replaced although I will be sad to see him go.

To me David's skill lies in giving us a clear window into his "world" and in doing so he enables us to fully experience, and more importantly share in, his obvious passion for the subject. I can't actually think of any possible replacement who comes near to matching him in that regard.

I can't say i've seen cgi used before in a documentary that i have really liked, but the way they done it was fairly subtle and nicely rendered. Was quite impressed by it! :)
