I've just spent 20 minutes working on a concept, which may or may not be used on my new site, once it's complete. The concept is a logo, and is supposed to capture myself, in the character of the big 'P' which is (or should be) in a round-a-bout shape of a dog or any 4-legged animal of that sort.

What do you think? I'm quite pleased with it myself, but I may use a different colour scheme in the end.

Dont know if its cos its blown up but the background been jaggy dont look right to me.
But other than that i like what your tryng to do

Im not seeing the dog..

Damn! I thought it probably wouldn't be obvious. :p

The dog is the big black 'P', with a mouth and a horizontally-flipped 'h' for the back and legs, behind it.

But yeh, it doesn't work if I have to explain it. Back to the drawing board!

I like it, but still can't see the dog after your description! it's probably me... i'm pretty tired...

Another point it almost looks like it could say "iPhillip"

Nice work though

Ok, I've exaggerated the dog as much as I could, before it started to become a little too complicated for my liking.

I'm quite happy with the changes there, but I want to figure something else out with the eye.

I'm not a graphic designer, but the first thing that jumps out at me is "hillip edwards". With the background and P being so strong, and the H overlapping the P it draws my eye away from it being one word.

When I look at it, that's the first thing I see also. I think it needs to be more subtle. It should stand out because of what you're trying to do but when someone looks at it, they should still see it as Phillip and not hillip.

I like the one more. You should be careful when designing a logo since i assume you are gonna use the logo on various medias so imagine the logo being smaller. I doubt the details you put on the second one will stand out. Anyway got logos go for something simple and effective with is highly workable :)

My main concern with a border around the 'P', is that it takes it out of the realm of 'slightly childish' and into the realm of 'the Japanese-esque confused artist'. :p

It makes it just a little too rounded for my liking. Saying that, when I remove all colours in that style, it works quite well. So I'll get to work on colour scheme-ing it.
