How much toilet paper do we get through a year?

The OP mentioned that we dont recycle toilet paper, but while that is somewhat true and we dont directly reuse toilet paper, it is biodegradable and so somewhere along the sewer system/water processing cycle, it must get broken down and eventully return to the earth where itll help new plants to grow.

So the way i see it, no matter how much we use, it returns back to earth eventully anyway.

If you live in a city your drinking water comes from reprocessed sewage :)

If i was in a 3rd world country, that would worry me, but since im not it doesnt bother me. By the amount of bottled water people drink though, im guessing a lot of people dont like the idea of drinking water that has potentialy gone through millions of humans already, if not billions.

This is sadly something I thought about once on the throne lol. I still dont get the whole 3 sea shells thing from demolition man

Wasnt a slip and slide on the outside either, this was some messy wipe x 25 stuff...

We could use a lot less toilet paper if we changed our diets. For all the processed rubbish we eat, this is a knock on effect. 3-day poos and messy wipes.

If we ate a good high fibre diet, the the waste should fall easily out of you 2-3 times a day and the only paper you'll need would be to dab the corner of your starfish to clear any potential fecal matter or mop up any 'eau de toilet' splashback. 6 sheets a day maximum.

Never thought about this before. Seems a waste...

Those who are all eco and stuff should probably use a bidet :p

I swear... the way women use toilet paper makes the rainforests cry.

Men : Use 2-3 pieces, then put in toilet after usage. Repeat as appropriate.

Women : Grab first piece of toilet paper. Pull as hard as possible, and watch as the roll spins 30+ times. Then use the handfuls of paper to "mop" necessary areas.

End result : Women use -at least- 10 times more toilet paper than men.

I will take your word for it, I've not watched many men or women wipe their backsides :p

folding is the way to go peeps, how can you scrunch a bunch of toilet paper and wipe yourself, its a waste! fold sheet wipe, re-fold sheet (twice over) and you get a extra wipe!
