Sins of a solar empire - unusually low hardware requirements

Tried it today and not very impressed, no story or single player campaign, I hate the jump lanes and the pirates, the area around each planet is patheticly small.

Meh, I'll go and play homeworld online, much better then this tripe.

No single player *crosses SoaSE off list* and I was sooooo looking forward to this game.

So, how do you propose that I purchase it without an accepted payment method then? Pay for a return air ticket to America, go to the nearest applicable game store and then return on a flight later the same day?

yes, it might do you good to get out and relieve the stress ! honestly simmer, if you want the game use paypal , simple and safe

I think people are getting confused between single player and campaign. It's more akin to civilisation single player (but with rts) than Command and Conquer campaign, i.e. more of a sandbox.

Bump mapping isnt very good imo, what do others think? Also a bug if your ingame and zoomed on a ship you go to menu set to bump low then highest then zoom out and focus on another model its untextured and takes a sec or two to reload the textuers.

Well if sup com can do more than 100k units or more then i duno but if it cant then sins is much larger scale than sup com. The systmes (playing field) is definatly largr tho by a lot.

Erm about a download link you can buy and download it from sins website, google it to find it.

This game seems to be getting quite a lot of praise from.......everywhere, ive seen vids of it, and it looks really complicated. Is it just blowing up other peoples space ships ? :)

The level of complication all depends on the player I think. If you want to reach the final tech levels and play with massive fleets then yes its gonna get complicated. But smaller 4 planet games shouldnt get too complicated as you wont really have the time nor available resources to get very far along the tech tree. Tonight Im gonna set up a 2 vs 2 game on the biggest map just to give me enough time to build up a massive fleet before engaging the enemy :p

For someone that's been hiding under a rock and that enjoyed Galactic Civ 2, does this game expand on and improve the genre and should I buy it? :)

sorry if this seems silly but i sat through the tutorials and im sure it never mentioned this.

im currently stuck with one capital ship and a small amount of fighters as i cant work out how to progress through the ranks. it asks for certain numbers of research buildings (which i have) but then asks for "1 point in X" which i cannot find anywhere in the research selections.

In the research box, go to the 'fleet logistics' section. There are two rows of advancement options. The bottom increases your support cap, and the top increases the number of cap-ship crews available. Their only prerequisites are that you have the required number of (any) research station, and have advanced to the previous level (other than having enough credits, metal and crystal of course...).
