[Gratuitous reminiscence]What discontinued food do you want back?

As already mentioned... Sunkist, Trio, Pacers, Pretzel Flipz.

Anyone remember a chocolate bar called Applause? They were nice.

Also a breakfast cereal called (I think) Honey Smacks... may still be around but under a different name. I'm sure someone will take great delight in telling me so if they are.

The sweet shop in my home town used to sell munchy maggots and foam mushrooms... again, may still be around but I've not looked to be honest.

Also, something I never had in the UK but when I was in the Netherlands as a kid I had some sugar coated sprinkle things that were kinda like hundreds and thousands but were way better... the Dutch used to sprinkle these on toast with butter. Was very tasty.

Wispa, anyone remember them? They won!

I remember saving my pocket money for a Lucky Bag , Aztec Bar and a bottle of Cream Soda :D Used to love Aztec Bars , I think Cadburys made them as well to commemorate the 1970 World Cup !

marvellous :D:D

They should bring back Top Deck - instant way to feel grown up.... mmm 0.000005% alcoholic or whatever it was. Lager and Lime or some kind of shandy... great stuff.

As mentioned, wispa gold, and probably already mentioned... Nestlé (?) Secret. I seem to remember them costing about 2x the average piece of chocolatey confection but it seemed worth it at the time.

Stuff that you just miss in general, perhaps not because they've been discontinued, but because no one seems to sell them anymore.
I'm sure you can get all the lovely gelatinous sweeties you used to, like those bears for 1/2 a penny each.

Or just a random bag of stuff, picked out earlier by the corner shopkeeper (who used to be English). Like a 10/20/50 (if you were really rich) pence mix bag of goodness.

I never seem to be able to find Slush Puppies for sale either :(

And whatever happend to WHAM bars and Highland Toffee - I think they still exist, but now your mother doesn't have to prise your teeth apart with a teaspoon (toffee) and someone stole all the fizzy bits from WHAMs.

Irn Bru bars too... not quite as hardcore, but still a sugary/tartrazine high.

See there was two types of sweets when I were a lad. There was the utterly crap kind, the massively overpriced and overpackaged jelly things that only Woolworths sold. Probably American in origin... Then there was the kind that kids in council houses had, bought from the corner shop, or to a lesser extent a guy at the market (but his were always more expensive AND inferior).

And while i'm feeling incredibly nostalgic and mournful... PYRAMINT! Anyone remember those. I'm still crying since Terry's stopped making them.

And Tab clear..that was interesting, but already mentioned... Does anyone remember a couple of weeks to a month between 1991 and 1994 (can't remember exactly when) that Pepsi made Strawberry Pepsi. I think it only came in 250ml cans, and cost more than any other type of pepsi, but by god it was nice!

And I think they should bring back man-sized bountys. None of this two little dog turd sized things in a pack. I WANT BIG BOUNTY!

In fact anything that had sherbet (or is it sherbert?) as a core component is now tame in comparison. I remember when Trebor had proper sherbet fountains that nearly took your head off. But then I didn't like them that much, so I just used to open the bottom end and blow through it, covering whichever friend was closest in the stuff.

Good times :D

i miss those chocolate cigarettes in the little paper packet, me and my mates used to think we were so cool having those, bear in mind, i was like, 8 or 9. lol.

anyone know if they still do them? i remember a packet looking like a lucky strike rip off :p

Most of the stuff I'd like to see back again has already been mentioned although I see no mention of the triple choc twix, they were lovely but were only a limited run :(

Yeha, i remember this. I think it was made by wrigleys. Lovely stuff. Made your tounge slightly numb. Big Red, they still make it, in the US anyway.

^^ They still make soda stream, just slightly less raw : )

I remember once I decided to add the syrup and then fizz it, cue Coke all over the kitchen walls, floor, cooker etc etc

yay, those where class, they even came in life like cig packets with the plastic foil around the packet, glad I never got hooked on smoking when I was younger, nasty habit, I bet they have been banned from being sold.

They were renamed to candy sticks, and the red 'burning' bit removed from the end. ;)

EDIT: Oops, I'm talking about sweet cigarettes, not chocolate ones.
