For all the connoisseurs out in OCUK land I'm after some cognac thats not too well known as I'm sick of the same old same old e.g Remy Martin or Courvoiser. Spec me a less well known of but none the less good quality brandy I can warm my cocles with!:D

I quite like Louis Royer and Maison Brillet. Ragnaud Sabourin can be good, but you need to lean towards the more expensive bottles to get their best.

What sort of prices are we talkin?
Well for a good Ragnourd Sabourin (~20 year reserve), you're looking around the £50-£80 mark.

For lower priced cognacs, Pedro Domec's Carlos I is pretty decent at ~£30 a bottle.

'Course if you're feeling flush, go for a Hennessy containing a 200 year old blend. A real steal at £1,000 for a 70cl bottle ;).

Louis XIII - £800 a bottle or thereabouts. It's one of my ambitions to have a bottle on a shelf at home. It seems to have an excellent reputation.

i saw a bottle of that (i think it was that anyway) in the duty free at san francisco airport, it remains the most expensive bottle of anything i've ever seen!

Some good suggestions 'cept for the Remy XO that I've drunk enough of will check out all of these although I think I stick to £100-£200 price range as I'm a poor(but still refined) IT skivvy

Your ambition is to have a bottle on a shelf?!? surely it should be to drink it, otherwise whats the point?

I saw one of these at Heathrow (or was that Geneva? they're all the same!). The bottle certainally has presence.

I would love to try their Black Pearl however you had to have been approached personally for that.
