I have 2 shiney new side repeater strips for the wingmirrors on my Mercedes S-class.

Has anyone taken a merc wingmirror apart before? I am hardly a n00b when it comes to ripping cars apart but this is driving me insane, how the heck do i get the casing off?

Long shot but you never know :)

Jez, Usually you pull the glass out then this will give you access to the clips to remove the casing.

I tried pulling the glass out as this was my first thought but it seems very solid and i can hear the motor straining, so didnt have the confidence to pull it out with any force incase i break the motor mechanism.

I've had to pull quite hard to get mine out in the past :o

Usually the glass gas clips on the back that hold it around the motor mount so its quite well on.

Might be worth looking for a picture of your mirror glass (Back side) see how its hooked on.

You would have to remove the mirror glass first. Turn the mirror down to see the top of the plastic behind the glass. At the top there is a retaining spring, you should lift it up with a screwdriver and press the mirror glass out.

Fold the mirror completely. At the backside there is a retaining clamp for the cover, at about 2 o'clock. Press and remove the cover.

Be careful with all the springs, don't hurt yourself.

Nice :) Thanks dude
