To make the people with poverty spec cars feel inadequate.
My foglights are built into the headlights on the Golf, shame really cos I wanna be cool too.
(personally I couldn't care less about foglights, they don't blind me even in the Elise and I'm practically sat on the floor - right at foglight level)
Also car manufacturers branding them as "driving lights" so people think "i'm driving, so I need my driving lights on."
Something to do with *** way the beam of light is angled by the lenseso why do they blind me when normal headlights dont?

After checking the highway code I am now wondering if the fog lights on the misses golf are legal, they light up when turning at low speeds.
Hmmm, not too sure what to make of this

Front fogs don't really annoy, I actually find these new super-duper high brightness xenon/hids which burn the back of your retina more of an annoyance, oh and don't get me started in rear fogs![]()
