It's what you've been waiting for, Yorkfield is nearly upon us

Get in line people, first come first served! :D

Q9300's are expected with us towards the end of next week

I'm confused (its not hard with all these codenames flying about). Is this the same thing as the Penryn 45nm CPUs that were meant to be imminent or is this something different?

are there any chances of there being more 45nm quads later that have a higher multiplier, i want one to replace my b3 q6600, but i dont like the low multipliers on the up comming quads

The new quads have SSE4 (plus extra cache for Q9450 and above) and clock for clock these will be faster than q6600 though. I'm going to wait for the rumoured Q9650 with x9 multi though.

Doesn't look like it's gonna be cheap...

"It's in Q3 though. And no we did not mean QX9650 ! But hey, if you want some Extreme Edition computing power for less than $1000 you can either overclock a Q9450 (2.66 GHz stock) which will arrive later this quarter or keep your money in your pocket until Q3 when Intel is planning to introduce the Q9650. Just like the QX9650, the upcoming Q9650 will have four cores clocked at 3.0 GHz, an 1333 MHz FSB and 12 MB of L2 cache but its advantage will come from the price tag which is set to be significantly lower (and estimated $545)."

Sheesh, how much is 545 bucks gonna translate into sterling??

You know I dont overclock at all just my thing, but ive spotted QXQ9650s for £550 quid
am sure even when it does arrive its gonna hit 400ish-450ish
