Hi all,

I'm thinking of trading in my 56 plate Honda Civic 2.2 i-CDTI Sport and I seem to be getting some surprisingly bad valuations - does anyone know what I should be expecting for a:

Metallic Silver Honda Civic 2.2 i-CDTI from November 06. It's the 4 door in sport trim, 10,000 miles on the clock, FSH, no dents, dings or scratches. Immaculate interior (if it makes a difference).

I'm looking to trade it in for a petrol Mini Cooper (no laughing at the back, please!)

Cheers

Well from briefly looking around, it seems as though your £17k Civic (if you bought it new, which i figure you probably would have done) is now worth around 11.5k (private).

Congrats, in a little over a year you have lost £5,500 off of the price.

Are you also going to buy a new Mini Cooper?

The Civic wasn't new, and no the Mini won't be new either. What kind of maniac buys a brand new car?? Thanks for insunuating I was some kind of tool by the way.

Glass's reckons it trade books @ nearer 12k..

I thought 12K was about right as within 20 miles the cheapest I could find same spec as mine but with double the miles was £13,995, I was offered 11k for it.

Thanks for that info.

Apologies in that case :)

How old was the car when you bought it, if you don't mind me asking? What did you not like about it?

Built quality is pap - typical made in England, economy for a diesel is also poor. 5 visits to the garage to sort out emission control lights. Plus it makes my family car sick :-(

Apologies for my last comment also - I've had a bad day of being treated like scum by trainee BMW salesman. I was a bit touchy.
