8500GT vs 8600GT vs 6800GT vs 7800GTX vs 8800GT

Am I right in assuming that the 8500GT is bottom of the pile here?

followed by the 8600, 6800, 7800 and then the 8800?

8600GT is faster than a 6800GT and if I'm right in thinking the 8600GT is also a tad faster than the 7800. But yes the 8800 is at the top in that list

iirc it's more like:

(6800GT = 8500GT)< (7800GT = 8600GT) < 8800GT.

Edit nvm...
I overestimated the 8 series.
Anything below 8800 is ****.

So 8500GT<6800GT<8600GT<7800GT<8800GT = correct.

knowing that the 8600gt will OC like a demon, i would have fancied it beating a 7800gt.

Yea some people rekon in games like crysis the 8600GT is up there with the X1900XT which is also faster than a 7900GTX unless it was the 8600GTS which was up with the X1900.

My lad has a 8600gt in his rig and it runs FEAR very nicely at 1280x1024 and thats with only 1 gig ram.

I'd put the 7800gt slightly slower than an 8600gt. But the gtx would be faster

with the latest drivers (which seem to be very 8 series friendly) and a healthy OC, im confident i could get my 8600gt to pull slightly ahead. Its running the core and shaders at GTS speads at the mo.

8600 GT is a good little clocker. Throw direct X 10 at it though, and it dies horribly

depends on if we are talking about a 7800gtx 256mb or a 512mb as a 512mb is a lot faster then a 256mb.

actually nevermind either way its faster then a 8600GT.

So a 7800gtx is great in dx10 is it, durr. Nothing current is great at dx10 and as a percentage, how many 'must have' titles are exclusively dx10, or even improved by dx10..................urm none.
