Mondeo served me well, was a cracking car for the money. Less than 3 grand, top of the range trim level and 4.5 years old. Never once broke down on me or went wrong, either.

Has she been replaced by an equally/more reliable motor though?

(sorry for the change in conversation thread readers)

Well, I'm not Fox but I copy his car choices, so I can answer that :p.

In my case the Mondeo was more reliable, my 530i has broken quite a lot really. Mondeo didn't really need anything other than consumables.

No - the 530 has needed a radiator, wheel bearing and the idle control valve cleaning. German cars give perceived reliability, it's the Japanese that have actual reliability nailed.

Whilst Toyota was perfecting the cooling system, BMW were making sure interiors were cast from granite. The end result is a car more solid than any other car I've ever driven, which still feels as tight as new.... but with a fragile cooling system :D

Not that I begrudge any of it, it's absolutely fantastic and I knew exactly what they are like before I bought one :p

i also dont slow down for speed bumps or pot holes i know it's bad to but could this be the reason im loosing air. thanks

Didnt notice this. You drive like an idiot.

Every time you crash at full speed into a speed bump, you wear your suspension and risk damaging something. Mondeo suspension isn't exactly bulletproof at the best of times, and the wheels buckle easily (I had 3 buckled wheels at various stages and I always slow down for speed ramps).
