Stood up to a chavette insulting my girlfriend in Morrisons

Just come back from our weekly shop at Morrisons and I'm absolutely fuming.

Its a rather nice day, and my girlfriend is attractive and has a nice figure, so she wore a skirt that came just above her knees.

We were in the dental section getting some tooth paste when I heard a really rough, husky woman talking rather loudly.

I looked up to be greeted by one of the most hideous creations I have ever set my eyes on. A tracksuite clad, scrawny, 20 something year old woman with skin and teeth which would give dermatologists and dentists nightmares. Probably the epitome of what people generally term as a chavette.

I carried on getting my toothpaste and heard her say to my girlfriend "You should put some clothes on you little [insert expletive for female dog]". We ignored her, and as we were walking away, she then repeated herself, this time a little louder.

I would normally ignore something like that, but in this instance I couldn't. I turned round as soon as she had finished her torrent of abuse, and said "You should wear a bag over your head".

After this statement all hell broke loose. The man she was with, who looked too old to be her partner, but too young to be her dad was shouting "[Four letter swearword] you" and she was screaming that she was going to "Get her mates to [four letter swearword] me up].

I'm absolutely astounded on two counts. Firstly she expects to be able to say things like that without retalliation, and secondly that she and her partner then felt the need to exact revenge on us for standing up to them.

Unbelievable, and yet another example of how our benefits system and human rights legislation have created a sub-class of human being

Come on, you had enough material to manage more than just that comment.

More effort next time please.

I saw something pretty good on the way home from London yesterday - at West Worthing train station... some chavs had shouted racist abuse at an asian guy in his car, the bloke pulled up with one of those things for putting wheel nuts on and went for them :D Best thing ever. When he got back in the car they shouted again, then he got out again and they legged it into the co-op. All mouth no trousers!

Good principle, but if he'd actually hit them, he'd be the one arrested =[

Have to admit, I'd have probably done the same as you - what am I saying, I did just that the other month in Morrisons. :D:D

It seems you either have to be pregnant, a chav or an immigrant to have rights in this country.

Yeah I know :( We watched it all though, so we could stand up for him (that asian guy) to some extent, if that did happen.

They shouted abuse at him, so he put them in hospital. The law is the law, he doesn't have a leg to stand on.

The ugly (in every sense of the word) bint was jealous your missus is pretty.
Not even worth wasting your breath on low life scum like that.

If as other posters have said he'd stood up to them to a point where he'd been the victim of assault by them the law is fully on the op to have them arrested and press full charges. Personally I would have complained to the manager of the store and pointed them out to him, hopefully if another member of staff or public had overheard they would at a minimum been thrown out!

Similar happened to me yesterday - me and the girl i was with just walked past minding her own business then this girl and this group of girls started shouting stuff at us, so we just ignored them and kept walking to the park.
We were at the park for about 20 mins talking, and they show up again, surrounded us and then started shouting abuse at us yet again for no reason. So we ignored them and moved away again, followed by many of them 'yeah, walk away' so I turned around and told them 'you do realise most of you aren't what you think you are, half of you look about 12 and the other half look like blokes'. Then they shut up and stopped following us?

I don't know how you can claim this though concerning the benefits system?
