I'm joining a new company and they are on O2, I can have any phone I want so what would people buy? Iphone or XDa or even blackberry.

I want it to sync with Outlook and to be able to pick up emails from exchange and also AOL.

Any ideas.

as the phones for your business and you seem to be business-mind (wanting it for outlook, etc).. then i'd say the xda orbit ii :D - or the xda stellar if you prefer a keyboard thing

but i'm comparing it to the ipod - i aint got a clue what the blackberries are capable of

a lot of the htc phones have built in gps and can use tomtom, the n95 can't iirc yet

That's only because TomTom haven't supported it yet. I use TomTom on my N95 8GB but I bought a separate receiver as it saves battery and also it gives better reception (sirfstar III). It's tiny and is better than relying on the internal gps. I know this seems to defeat the point of the internal gps, but I don't mind the extra piece to carry as I just clip it to my keys (plus, I have dropped my Sony HD player as a result of getting the N95).

If its for work and you have the need for push email then generally thats where Blackberrys excel. Might want to check with your company that they can provide the exchange settings to get push email onto a WM phone - if you can I would pick up the O2 variant of the Tytn II rather than the Touch Cruise since if you need to pick up emails no doubt you will want to send some and having a proper keyboard will make that infinitely easier...

Personally think its mad to consider the Touch Cruise for business purposes especially when you want to access emails...

ps3ud0

all personal preference really, Iphone can sync with outlook etc and is really simple and intuitive to use, just guess it depends what you prefer. Had a play on an orbit 2, just seemed a tad over-complicated especcially compared with the iphone ,just my personal opinion.

Can you even get iPhones on business tariffs? If so, it would certainly be my choice. Since getting one alongside my N95 I've not used the Nokia once (since November) and I find I check emails and surf MUCH more now as the interface is so much better than Symbian. With the 3rd party apps on a jailbroken one it makes it even more useful as a productivity tool. I can get any phone I like but I'll be sticking with the iphone.

Just got a O2 Stellar aka HTC Tytn II at work. Most definately a phone I'd recommend. I've had an O2 Orbit for a year myself again very happy with.

When I went into the local O2 shop to look at the orbit 2, I had a play with an iPhone.

After not really understanding what all the fuss was about on paper, and the net, I have to say I really now "get" the iPhone. as a piece of design tech, it really is quite incredible. The orbit 2 was out of stock though so I walked.

What should you do?, play with both and see what suits you most. Personally, I would take the extra functionallity of the Windows Moblile phone with the interface and looks of the iPhone please... ... And it loook like Sony may be coming up with the goods...

iPhone all the way, I tried the n95, I hated it, sure it has loads of features, but it doesn't have the screen or the power to use them properly IMO, I found it slow and clunky. The iphone is a joy to use, posting this on it now, its just a pleasure to use, the best phone I have had bar none.

Funnily enough i have to agree with you, i have the N95 8gb model and yes its a lovely phone but i find it kinda slow and clunky...altho much quicker than the original n95. But having an ipod touch and using the internet on that has shown me just how rubbish the browser on the n95 is...plus the fact that the screen on the iphone/ipod touch is much much larger and a joy to browse the internet on.

Only thing that the iphone lacks for me is 3g but having heard that they are releasing one very soon....means that ill ditch my n95 8gb for the 3g iphone when its available. Fact of the matter is that i dont even use the n95 8gb for internet browsing...its not that good at it tbqh. Which is a shame because my WnW tariff with tmobile is just being wasted really.

Hold on a sec.

As far as I'm aware, you cannot get the iPhone on business lines with O2 (at the moment).

Weve asked our O2 business customer support contact about this and she said that for business contracts, the iPhone is currently not available.

You sure you can get the iPhone on business contract? Or is it a private line?

On another note.

Donk - How you finding the speed of the TyTn II generally?

Get an iPhone if you can (which I doubt). Failing that get an N95 8gb or Orbit 2. TyTn II is huge compared to the Orbit II
