Huge difference, the shine and longevity of decent waxes is so superior to the cheap nasty stuff its unreal. A decent plastic trim wax will make your black bits (interior and exterior) clean and shine. Decent wheel cleaners and dust barrier sealant sprays help wonders with wheels, and a decent metal polish for your exhaust.

I currently use:

Zymol shampoo
Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection
Meguires Gold Class, or Zymol Cleaner Wax
Autoglym Wheel Cleaner
Autoglym Wheel Sealant
Meguires Tyre Dressing Gel (purple stuff)
TurtleWax "Black in a Flash" Trim Wax
Autoglym Glass Polish
Autoglym Fast Glass

And of course all the associated applicators, cloths, mits and gubbins that accompany the above.

Tbh the most important factor in car cleaning products is smell, if it doesn't smell like some kids sweets or hair care products it must be rubbish!

Normally use Autoglym wax and shampoo, but used Turtlewax shampoo this time and it looked really good.

Would be interested in what people used to get the glass looking at it's best. Also not sure on whats best for chrome...?

It seems to last about two weeks of "shine", but keeps black things black for about a month if they were faded.

My black bits are not faded, so I just use it for the shine it gives :p

The stuff i have previously used was automsmart glass clear.

Goes on like a paste/mist then wipes off. Comes up gleaming :)

Thats what i want it for tbh - i have no fade either but i like shine :)

hopefully the wax would help stop fading too.

Glass, Autoglym Glass Polish, followed by Autoglym Fast Glass, but use the fast glass with PAPER TOWELS, not any kind of cloth/fabric.

As for chrome, is it real, or plastic?

I went a bit overboard last year when i got into the Detailing scene, Ive got shed loads of stuff, most of which i dont use now.But the main components for me are:

Wash : Megs APC pre-wash & Megs Hyperwash.
Pre polish - Sonus green Clay, and Sonus SFX 1 swirl buster polish via machine
Polish - Autoglym super resin (rated very highly by the experts)
Wax - Collinite Marque de Elegance, uber long lasting wax.

The above is done prob 3-4 times a year. The only thing i havent got is a decent wheel wax/sealant.

All swissol (swissvax) products.

Wax (best of show)
Cleaner Fluid (prewax)
Paint Rubber
Quick Finish
Car Bath
Wheel cleaner
Pneu
Leather Cleaner
Leather Milk
Metal Polish
Wood Polish
Crystal (glass cleaner)

Using all swissol appllicators and microfibre towels.

Makes the car look totally gourgeous until the next time i take it out.
