Damn this film is getting some good reviews... 8 Oscar nominations too.

I loved Paul Thomas Anderson's work in Magnolia and Boogie Nights, this seems set to surpass both of those comfortably... I'm really looking forward to see this, hopefully get a ticket this weekend! :D

can't wait to see this next weekend.
Daniel Day-Lewis picked up the Best Actor Bafta for his role, and I expect him to grab an oscar as well!

Great film I loved it. Daniel Day Lewis was amazing throughout hope he does well at the oscars. I'm going to check out a few more of his films. I was reading his wiki before and it said that he's a method actor and researches role's heavily before shooting a film which is shows in this performance at least. Can't believe that there hasn't been much talk about it on here, although when you search there will be blood it comes up with search errors.

I have to say while I found the acting to be very good the story as a whole was about the most boring thing I've ever watched.

I kept waiting for something to happen, for there to be a point, alas there was none.

Totally agree with you Andy, the acting was awesome and Day lewis was just fantastic but as a whole the story line was so slow paced your just waiting for something to happen every five minutes and nothing ever does. The film drags on far too long and there is a good half an hour that could have been cut from it and made it a lot more entertaining.

I thought it was a great film and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought it was more of a biopic so there wasn't a real "story" to the film, and whilst it is quite long, I didn't find myself looking at my watch wondering how long was left.

I really had very little idea what the movie was actually about so watched it not knowing what to expect. The performances were as said, absolutely incredible. Greenwood's score was equally impressive, its uniqueness took this movie to another level IMO.

I liked how it was epic in a more "traditional" way. Just plain good cinematography, dialogue and acting. I'll admit I was expecting 'more to happen' in a sense. I agree it wasn't the greatest story ever told, but was a mesmerising exploration into the personality of a very intruiging man. The relationship with his boy in particular, can be analysed forever - there was so much depth to the characters. A level of depth you dont often see in modern cinema.

The movie's final scene was nothing short of legendary IMO, its one of those classic scenes you'll remember for ages - brilliant stuff.

Watched this last night and we all thought it was terrible.
It was boring, dragged on far too long and the music got on my nerves, at some points it was painful.
Can't fault the acting but all six of us found it a shocking film.

I personally hated this film. It never gets going, nothing happens and is just boring. "There will be blood" - so you're expecting some action and there's like 2 deaths.. zz

LOL I loved the ending - the film title delivers :D

Love the suspense music througout the film as well kept me at the edge of the seat although there really was nothing scary on the screen.
