Now before anyone goes into the "omg lolz Scamor!111!1one!" from the nigerians and there PC's here's a bit of praise for a small group that are fixing CD players, DVD players, LCD TV's etc. I thought it was pretty impressive considering none of these folks have any form of electronical qualifications!.

BBC article

edit - Title should read "Nigerian Repair Men"

I'm tempted to say "...stole my TV SET!"

but I think they worded the last pic wrong :(

Site:

Festus Chidi is at the bottom of the pile. The 22-year-old sells reconditioned stereo systems bought second-hand in Japan where his boss has a friend.

Truth:

Festus Chidi is at the bottom of the pile. The 22-year-old sells stolen stereo systems robbed from Japan where his boss has a friend.

Small group? - they're all over Nigeria.
Being born there this is usual.
All you have to do is walk down any road and there are little shacks with Nigerians doing all sorts to a very high standard.
Back in the late 70's Nigeria got gizmo's that you would never see in Britain eg In 78 my Dad had a video that was built into a TV.

Those stolen comments simply are not funny... You mock what you don't understand.

Repair + Reuse must be better than sending to landfill.

It's a sad fact that today most products seem to be designed to be unrepairable. Kudos to those who make the effort to try and repair and reuse rather than dump!
